I’m finally sitting down to write a post-trip update.  My last update was the night before the last day of the retreat.  On that final day I ended up getting a solid half-day of work in and was well enough rested to give me energy for not only the mo...

Mission Trips

  • Monday and Tuesday we spent recording a song that was written with the team members of World Music Mission and East Africa Gospel. It was a great pleasure to see the song turn out so well.  We spent a short amount of time over three nights and the investment paid off. It has multiple African languages and English words and has a very strong African feel.

Yesterday and today the sessions including: Who Do we Worship, Authentic Leadership, How to Build a Team, Leading Worship, Learning Guitar, Learning Keyboard, Vocal Training, and Songwriting. Musicians, singers, dancers, leaders, and pastors al...

  • Praise the Lord! Or in Ugandan, Mokama Yay...... What and encouraging time to be here! My day started out earlier this morning as a few of the students were asking for extra time to work on the songs that they are writing.

  • Today was a day that I will not forget. I was tasked with teaching on two subjects that are controversial in Uganda. The EA Gospel team and WMM team discussed it last night to just air out the different views on it and how to teach it. After much discussion, Samson said, "let us commit to praying for Kurt as he is the one who has to preach it".

So we all went to bed except me as I sat up to pray about and take the notes that were coming.  The morning came and Lord showed up as usual and gave the people what He wanted. It was a powerful moment to be in as the leading of the Holy Spirit took pla...
