I’m finally sitting down to write a post-trip update.  My last update was the night before the last day of the retreat.  On that final day I ended up getting a solid half-day of work in and was well enough rested to give me energy for not only the mo...

  • Last Nepal Update – Sunday through Tuesday: My last update was sent in a hurry in a little cyber-café in Hetauda. I’m now  back in the US and have managed to clear enough cobwebs of  responsibilities to take a few minutes to recount what happened on the last few days of my trip.

My time in Hetauda was a whirlwind. I told you about the harrowing drive – this video sums it up nicely: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_Q0QN_0h_g&feature=youtu.be You can see all of my videos here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist…. The ride was 4-5 hours and we were tightly packed into the all-terrain jeep. I was ...

  • The guys made it home! They are worn out but thrilled with the trip. Here's a video from a worship service in Hetauda, Nepal. In the second half of the video you'll see the guitarist using one of the guitars we brought along from Nashville. More final write ups will soon follow....

  • Long day of travel today and more to come!! Supper last night was provided by a lady from the church.  She has four daughters and her husband is a truck driver. He was not there. We all ate typical Nepalese food in her small home. After dinner we asked if we could pray for her. All she asked us to pray for was that her husband would come visit her daughters and that he would come to know Jesus and come to church. The whole evening was very moving! Her oldest girl is a year older than my daughter, 16. She was a very sweet lady. Everyone we met here is very sweet and friendly. It amazes me that ...

  • Darshan Pakhrin is our team's host in Hetauda...he sent these comments on Facebook to Joal:

Today we finished our music and worship camp. Brother David L Ward he taught us so greatly in music and worship. He performed good saxophone. The student they were so interested in his teaching and Randy and Sam were helping in making good sound system. It was blessed--thank you Lord Jesus and tomorrow we are going to Kathmandu. Thank you for helping so much and gifting the instruments.

  • Forgot to post this here Saturday evening. We just got back to Kathmandu....We are in Hetauda and don't have Internet access or even much electricity. I don't have much time at this Internet cafe before we are picked up. It is much simpler here than I thought; we are all staying in one room, but that's actually common here, as all of the families live in one room. Our hosts have us sleeping on tables. The church building is a chicken house with a tarp put up and looks like it would seat only 40, but for our afternoon class we had about 100 inside and maybe 30 outside--WOW!!! Not many people he...
