BELIZE 2016--Dan Peterson

In the Rear View Mirror

Wow, what a weekend! A team of six men met up in Belize Central America to help Brothers and Sisters in Christ at the Fuente de Vida Church in Orange Walk, in the area of Music Ministries.

My task was to assist with the audio component of music. It was one of assessing what was there and what was needed. Being from Dry Arizona I was surprised at what damage the high humidity and dusty rural conditions can do to audio equipment. I discovered that their 8 channel Mackie mixing board only had 4 channels working, and the Main speaker controls were touchy, which were just a couple of the challenges. With the loan of a 4 mic wireless system from another church we were able to have training sessions of Friday and Saturday and services at different locations, Friday night at a church in Douglas, Saturday night an open air at the city square and Sunday morning service at the church.

The best part of my time in Orange Walk, Belize was spending time with Christian brothers and sisters whom l had never known, but whom am proud to know! Their desire to develop Worship and outreach is infectious. Thanks Charlie for your part. Go Fuente de Vida!!
