ZIMBABWE-Geoff Thursday

So its been a mad rush of a few days here. The instrument training has been marvelous. everyone has been picking up so quickly. Wow, such joyous sounds coming out of these very talented and eager hearts.

From the dancing and jumping at church service on Sunday, to the performance of their original songs on the front porch; from the home cooked meals sitting in the back garden to the late night cups of tea, this is truly a community that I am so blessed to be among.

Wednesday night we were invited to attend a small group gathering from Pastor Walter’s church at the home of one of the congregants. It began with introductions, then a prayer, and then songs burst out. One would stand and start and then everyone would join in. Then we had another wonderful home cooked meal, followed by more singing and praying.

Thursday, after we left the students with an assignment to write original songs about going on mission, Erica, Wendy and I left with Walter to go to the Lion and Cheetah park. These Lions roamed around the game grounds as we drove amongst them. Such beautiful proud beasts.

Tonight was yet again, another late night round of hanging out with those who are staying here at the house with. That became signing and teaching instruments again. Tomorrow is graduation for the students. We have a big day planned.
