The World Music Mission is a ministry department of the mission sending agency Artists in Christian Testimony International (www.actinternational.org). This past weekend I had the privilege of attending the annual Gathering outside of Nashville at Harpeth Community Church in Franklin, TN. Imagine a room FULL of like minded, like hearted and spirited musicians, worship leaders, songwriters, painters, sculptors, photographers, writers, film makers, screen writers, actors, and even creatives in fields like healthcare and prison ministry.
Everyday there was great heart meeting teaching and dire...

What an awesome day! We were definitely blessed again today. If I had to attach a theme or a word to our day, it would be "unity". As usual, our day started out with a fantastic breakfast with Armando and his family at their small restaurant. They are such a great family and we have really enjoyed getting the opportunity to sit down and really get a chance to break some bread together. What a blessing it is to be able to sit around a table while sharing a tasty meal and just laugh and have really good biblical discussions. I think that I can speak fo...
One of the main pieces of gear we realized was needed by Fountain of Life Church was a snake for their sound system. For those who aren't familiar with the term, it's a nickname for the bundle of cables that allow the sound board to be far away from the stage--you plug the mics, instruments and speakers in a box at one end near the stage and a single thick cable "snakes" to the back of the room to the mixing board and allows the sound tech to have a better perception of what the congregation hears. The team brought a 100 ft snake with them to help in the worship experience of the church. A sim...
Today was a great day. We spent time running through songs and doing a concert with a few musicians in that church. We ended up with a bass player, keyboard player, and singer from Fuente Vida church with me on drums, with Rob from our team on guitar and Tito on vocals. Tito is a really good bass player, but he wanted Fuente Vida's bass player, named Issac to play instead. We were able to encourage Issac to play along with the patterns I was playing on my kick drum, which seems like a no brainer, but is not always the case for all young players.
It was also really cool for me to return t...
When someone tells you that they are going on a missions trip, the typical thought that crosses your mind is probably, “Oh, like going to help a poor remote village?” or “going to help build 4 walls or do a VBS?” And for the most part that’s what people do. People sign up to go on a trip to bring back pictures of how God used them to touch the lives of the kids in a village that doesn’t have running water. And while all of that is good, most of what we do as missions work, never creates a solution for the people that actually stay behind after we’ve gone back to our homes.
What I love about wh...
